For hundreds of women, PIVOT Baltimore has been a life-changing place to find themselves along their journeys of redemption and hope. These are some of the stories of PIVOT program alumnae who’ve broken the cycle of recidivism.

HJ WEINBERG FOUNDATION GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT

KIESHA, COHORT GRADUATE

“I’ve become a stronger, more independent woman.”

Incarcerated for 16 years, Keisha enrolled in PIVOT two weeks after release. Since graduating from the program, she now has her own place, is earning her bachelor’s degree in business management, and working as a barista in a hotel.

She also opened an Etsy shop where she sells her own brand of bracelets.

PAULA’S STORY

“Following Forgotten Dreams”

“I just love this new way of life.”

Louise has been in and out of prison throughout much of her life. After completing the PIVOT program, she became a medical technician certified in CPR and first aid.

She now works at a recovery house and is training to become a peer specialist.
