Program Overview

“This is a place where women can become who they have always wanted to be. Where they will be honored, respected, and cherished — and not have to face the challenges of life alone.”

VERONICA JACKSON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PIVOT

Every woman deserves a second chance.

Reentry programs offer critical resources, but few women have access to them.

There are many reentry programs across the country supporting former prisoners’ journeys back to a productive life in society. They work miracles every day. But an overwhelming majority of them are designed for men.

Very few serve women, and even fewer address the obstacles and obligations that are more likely to affect women.

The demand for more help and resources for women has never been greater.

This shortcoming is even more distressing when you consider the 800% increase in the number of women behind bars in the last 30 years. The need is there, and PIVOT Baltimore’s reentry program was founded to meet it — and then some.

Our program is authentic, holistic, and well-connected to resources.

Over the course of nine weeks, our team of educators and advocates — 30% of them graduates of the program — provide participants with success coaching, career development and placement, mental health support, trauma and addiction resources, and more. We also use our large network of government and nonprofit partners to quickly locate resources and make connections that our participants might not have had otherwise.

If you or a loved one is a woman returning from prison, we can help turn your life around.

Our program does more than help the participant. It helps everyone around them — family, communities, workplaces. Get started today.
